We collect information about how you feel your child is going and how you support them as a parent, to see what resources might be most helpful for you and to see if the program is useful.

Only the staff within Developing Minds who have a direct need to know about your information have access to it.
The clinician team as a whole do not know which usernames are associated with which first and last names on the site so they answer questions without knowing who has asked them (other than in an emergency).
Other members of the team have access to names and email addresses only when needed to support families on the site.
Our statistician team have access to your information in order to analyse the group effects of using Calm Kid Central to see whether it is effective.
Our web developer has access to your information in order to fix technical problems and make the site run smoothly.
All Developing Minds team members and contractors are bound by strict confidentiality guidelines and agreements with us – and take your privacy very seriously.

Disclosure of Data

We will not share your information with any other person or organisation except in the following circumstances.

  • To comply with a legal obligation (such as a court order)
  • To ensure the safety of a child or report reasonable suspicion of child abuse or neglect
  • To prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing in connection with the Service
  • To protect the personal safety of users of the Service or the public
  • To HCF, if you are an HCF member and HCF is funding your access to the Service (however we will only disclose to HCF your name, the coupon code you used to register for the Service, and the date you enrolled in the Service, and will not disclose any other Personal Data about you to HCF without your consent).
  • To Central Coast CAMHS and/or Women, Children and Families Directorate from the Central Coast Local Health Network  – only for families signing up with the code provided to them by CAMHS or WHIN co-ordinators – however we will only disclose to Central Coast Local Health Network, your name and the date you enrolled in the Service and will not disclosed any other personal data about you to these organisations without your consent.

Storage, Transfer and Security of Data

Developing Minds Psychology and Education will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.  However your information, including Personal Data, may be transferred to — and maintained on — computers located outside of your state/country – and data protection laws may differ in those countries than those from your jurisdiction.  (If you are located outside Australia and choose to provide information to us, please note that we transfer the data, including Personal Data, to Australia and process it there.)
